I turned each of these bowls individually from solid blocks of Victorian Blackwood sourced from Pops Shed. Designed to nest neatly inside one another for easy storage, this set is built for heavy rotation in your home, from daily kitchen prep to serving massive summer salads at the center of your dining table.
The Timber and The Craft Every pass on the lathe uncovered a unique characteristic in this batch of timber. The Small and Medium bowls feature tight, unpredictable swirls of rich browns. As the bowls scale up, the grain gets even more striking. The Large 22cm bowl highlights a subtle tinge of heartwood right on the rim, while the massive 26cm Extra Large centerpiece bowl features incredible natural spalting along the edge. The distinct dark lines of the spalted wood contrast heavily against the deep hues of the blackwood, making this specific set completely impossible to replicate.
These are heavy, functional kitchen workhorses. To ensure they are ready for immediate use, every bowl has been sealed with 100% food-safe Tung oil and finished with a pure beeswax polish to nourish and protect the grain.
